Langdale chase hotel Windermere Grade II listed
Client brief:
We were contracted by ASD Contracts to clean the external elevations of the hotel during refurbishment.
We worked closely with the architect to achieve the results they wanted, while wanting the stonework cleaning, they requested that they didn't want the building looking brand new so it was paramount that we left ageing stains and blending the new into the old where we could.
As you can tell by the pictures, the building looks amazing and the client and the architect were more than happy with the results.
While we were on site we were also given the task to shot blast and prime the fire escape in preparation for repairs and painting. Concrete ceilings were also sandblasted to expose the aggregate giving them an industrial look and to be used as a feature in the cinema room.
Methods Used:
To clean the stonework, the Doff system was specified by the architect due to its high heat and low pressure which was the perfect tool for this job, because ingress was to a minimum also the high heat meant the lichen spore were cleaned away without the use of any chemicals.
For the shot blasting and priming of the fire escape we used a 400cfm compressor with iron silicate to remove all the rust and return it back to bare metal.
